We work with training organisations, so some deliveries will include a volunteer crew member who needs additional sea time and experience to gain further qualifications. This helps to maintain safe crewing numbers while lowering delivery fees for our clients (you are not charged for volunteer crew). Please click here for crew application.
ARE OWNER'S WELCOME ABOARD?
The vessel owner is welcome to join us on all or part of the delivery where feasible. You are welcome as Master, competent crew, novice crew or crew seeking informal sailing / marine tuition en-route. This may reduce the delivery fee when owners are competent to act as master or crew. For new owners who meet us at the destination, our crew can induct you on the vessel and explain vessel operations, by prior request during the booking process.
WHAT NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
In addition to navigation equipment on-board your vessel, where required, we supply paper charts, sailing pilot publications, cruising guides and various navigational tools.
WHAT ARE YOUR COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS?
Mobile phone coverage may be available for a reasonable portion of the coastline between vessel origin and destination. Sometimes mobile coverage offshore may be poor or unavailable. For some coastal deliveries, and all international deliveries, a satellite phone will be used on-board for general communications and data (email, weather etc). During delivery, we generally provide daily progress updates to the owner or nominated person regarding position, vessel status, weather, ETA for next port, etc. for your information and peace of mind. Please click here to contact us.
DO YOU HAVE SHORE BASED SUPPORT?
Our operations team maintain daily communication with our crew regarding position and status (where coverage allows), and perform shore-based logistics support where required (weather forecasting, mechanical support / advice, flight and transfer bookings etc.). This lets the crew concentrate on the job at hand - sailing the boat.
CAN YOU PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL WEATHER FORECASTING?
On request, and for deliveries around cyclone season, the service of a professional weather forecaster may be engaged to further ensure safe vessel routing.
WHAT ABOUT INSURANCE AND REGISTRATION?
It is the owners' responsibility that the vessel is registered and carries comprehensive insurance that is valid for the duration of the delivery. The owner must provide us with a certificate of currency from their insurer, and written permission from their insurer that permits us to take charge of their vessel for the duration of the deliver. We do not carry separate insurance cover for your vessel.
It is the owners responsibility to ensure vessel is seaworthy, properly equipped and carries the appropriate tools, spare parts and safety equipment (including an in-service life raft, plus sea anchor where appropriate) for the intended delivery. Any survey recommendations and requirements must be completed prior to departure. The owner warrants that the vessel is in proper physical and mechanical condition, and that all systems on the vessel are in good and working order. This will help to ensure a safe, timely and trouble free delivery. We will thoroughly inspect the vessel and any issues found must be remedied prior to departure. Please read the vessel preparation checklist to assist you in readying your vessel for the delivery voyage. When requesting an estimate from us, please be honest about your yachts description, its equipment and condition.
WHAT IS INVOLVED WITH VESSEL HANDOVER?
On arrival, vessel will be cleaned inside, and washed down. Crew will be available to hand boat over to owner and provide a summary of the voyage. Vessel handover notes may be provided electronically regarding voyage details, fuel usage data and suggested maintenance items.
